  • Expanding development of recycled and bio-based materials centered on the 'ACEPORA-ECO' brand

Driving differentiation in eco-friendly yarns by leveraging nylon and polyester technologies

Reviewing T2T (Textile-to-Textile) waste fiber recycling technology to target the circular resource materials market

Taekwang Industrial Co., Ltd. and Daehan Synthetic Fiber Co., Ltd. are accelerating their efforts to strengthen their eco-friendly material competitiveness through their joint eco-friendly yarn brand, 'ACEPORA-ECO.' The two companies plan to expand their product portfolios with recycled and bio-based materials, responding to diverse demands in the global eco-friendly fiber market based on their accumulated production technology and research and development (R&D) capabilities. In particular, they are reviewing the potential application of T2T (Textile-to-Textile) technology, which regenerates textile waste into new fibers.

Taekwang Industrial plans to expand its eco-friendly materials business in phases by utilizing the nation's sole nylon yarn production infrastructure. The company aims to broaden its development scope from pre-consumer materials (recycling byproducts generated during the manufacturing process) to post-consumer materials (recovering resources from post-consumer waste) and bio-based materials.

To achieve this, based on its existing nylon production technology and R&D capabilities, the company is reviewing the applicability of various eco-friendly raw materials and pursuing the development of differentiated, high-value-added materials.

Daehan Synthetic Fiber is focusing on developing eco-friendly materials utilizing polyester production technology and specialized spinning facilities, such as composite spinning. Specifically, the company plans to review the applicability of Bio PET—a bio-based raw material—and combine it with specialized spinning technology to expand the application scope of its materials.

Through these efforts, the company aims to diversify its product lineup, which has traditionally centered on recycled polyester, and strengthen its technological foundation to meet customer requirements across various functionalities, qualities, and applications.

Both companies are also paying keen attention to T2T technology, which turns textile waste back into yarn. They seek to establish a comprehensive resource circulation system ranging from raw material recovery to recycled yarn production, and plan to flesh out a mid-to-long-term development strategy encompassing both recycled and bio-based materials.

Moving forward, Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Synthetic Fiber aim to elevate their product competitiveness through continuous R&D investment and expansion of their eco-friendly material portfolios. Their ultimate goal is to solidify their positions as material solution providers that go beyond simple yarn supply to actively meet clients' environmental standards and diverse product development demands.
